ELF Tinted Moisturizer

So, I don't think they are currently still selling these at my Target, but I want to pick up some more!

When I first tried ELF's tinted moisturizer, I thought it was too cakey. I also use Garnier's BB Cream, but compared to ELF, ELF has better coverage... the cakey-ness grew on me. With SPF 20, I can't argue with a $3 product. I went through my first one pretty quick, and have had my second one since the beginning of fall/end of summer. I have the shade "Sand," which is a bit too dark for my winter complexion.

This product also claims to have aloe, cucumber, and vitamins A, C, & E.

Now, there's an ELF BB Cream for $6, and if you know me, you know I am a fan of BB Creams. I have yet to get into CC Creams, but I've got an Olay one on the backburner. Hoping that will be a great product... (You will probably find out!) I forget the source of the CC Cream recommendation -Refinery29, perhaps? Currently, I have Garnier's BB Cream in my purse makeup bag.

I'm not really sure how to weigh the value I'm getting out of the Garnier and ELF products. Garnier is about $14, with more product (obviously). Then ELF has these small squeeze tubes for only $3, although, I appreciate the coverage it gives me. In general, I think Garnier might be a better value, but ELF is a great option to toss in your purse. Also, ELF offers more shade options. That might be something to keep in mind.

If you love sushi, you'll love Dotombori.

So this gem: Dotombori. Phenomenal! I had been wanting to visit that place since forever, and twice I tried, but they were closed. I was finally able to try them last year. They have funky hours (closing in the afternoon), but the wait was well worth it. A lot of times, people will ask where to find good sushi on Facebook. I will always say Dotombori.

The last time I went, we got all fried rolls. Still delicious! They have unique combinations, and I've been there several times now and ordered something different each time and have not been disappointed.

This photo is from January, and I do not remember which rolls we got. Normally, I get something with the spicy mayo, because that's my jam. I'm going to repeat this: I've NEVER been disappointed. You don't even need the wasabi or soy sauce.

I may not be able to remember all the different rolls I've tried, but that's all right. Basically, whatever you have a taste for, you'll be able to find. Their menu is very extensive and it's all delicious. Might I add that the stuffed mushroom appetizer is amazing, too.

Paper Arts (notebooks, sketchpads, cards)

If you're like me, you love the act of writing. I've kept a journal since 5th grade, and while my current journaling is much different from what it used to be, I still love finding beautiful notebooks to write in. And while digital mediums have become increasingly more and more popular, I find that the notebooks have become more and more beautiful.

I like to frequent Barnes and Noble for instant gratification, but if you want some really beautiful notebooks, check out these sites: Papaya Art & Paperchase.

I personally like Papaya Art's products and art the best. Paperchase is less artsy, and more practical, but both sites offer a wide array of products (including, but not limited to gorgeous totes and keychains on Papaya Art).

Some examples from Papaya Art (two notebooks and a legal pad):

Paperchase's website doesn't allow for downloading photos, but if Papaya Art isn't your style, you'll definitely find something at Paperchase -there are a variety prints and styles featured.

Nars "Orgasm" Dupe

I've hit pan on my all-time favorite blush, the Nars "Orgasm." I am proud to say, I've hit a lot of pan:

Everyone and their mother swears by "Orgasm," and I definitely can't argue with how great the color is. It's just that I'm not really in a place to be putting down another $30 on a single blush... I should not visit a Sephora or browse online, because we all know where that will end up (my list of Sephora wants is neverending). I've found a great dupe though:

Across the top: Nars "Orgasm"

From left to right:

Milani Baked Blush "Berry Amore"
Milani Baked Blush "Red Vino"
Revlon "Wine Not"
Elf "Tickled Pink"

As you can see Milani's "Berry Amore" takes the cake. It's not as shimmery, but it still has the orange undertones, and possible a better color payoff.

I had been scouring YouTube for "Orgasm" dupes and found out about, Milani's Baked Blushes. I've only really tried their eyeshadow, and it's just been one color, "Shimmering Sand." I'm going to be frequenting CVS more often. Surprisingly, there aren't too many by me. I usually go to Target for makeup, but it seems like CVS always has sales and what seems like a better selection. Throw in the Beauty Club and the Extra Care rewards, and I'm in heaven.

I actually thought "Red Vino" would be the best, but it turns out "Berry Amore" is the clear winner here. I'm glad I got to try these out because it was buy one get one 50% off at CVS. When it comes down to it. I've saved about $10 (compared to $30 on the Nars), but my products will also last me much longer!

And what am I doing with so many blushes? Well, they won't go to waste. Right now, I've got "Tickled Pink" and "Wine Not" in my purse makeup bag. I'm not too bad about collecting makeup, but I do have a purse makeup bag that I only use while out and about, so I have extras in there. I also, like any other girl, stock up on essentials when there's a sale; it's mostly eyeliners.

I love hitting pan, and using up products, but I will be sad to see "Orgasm" go.

Nars contains .16 oz of product.
Milani contains .12 oz of product.

Why, yes, yes it has been a while.

My apologies on the lack of posts. The winter put me into hibernation mode. Now that it's getting warmer, I'm looking forward to getting out an about more, and blogging about what's bringing me joy in my life.

More posts ahead. Stay tuned!
